The Engineering & Advanced Manufacturing students ended the school year by completing community service, watching MIT engineering lecture videos, providing feedback on the course syllabus to help guide future students, and brainstorming future goals for the summer, their next year of education, and their future careers. We celebrated our successes as a group and reminisced about our many failures and learning experiences over the course of the semester. We discussed the opportunities that each student has chosen to pursue, including many outside of the engineering realm. From Rolla to Miami to Ames, Iowa and even Germany, our students are planning to use their professional and technical skills throughout the country!
Our strand truly benefited from the tremendous support from our business partners, including our host site of LMV Automotive, as well as other companies in the Northland and Kansas City area. As we look forward to future years, we hope to continue to develop these partnerships to provide more students with the same high quality experience through guest speakers, site visits, projects, internships, and scholarship programs. As we look to greet our largest class yet (51!) of Engineering & Advanced Manufacturing students in the fall, these relationships will become even more critical. From our entire strand, THANK YOU to the businesses in the area that have helped make this year an incredible success. We look forward to further developing these relationships and building new ones as the 2017-2018 class begins!
